Is There Really Change?

How many times have we seen the slogan “Change You Can Count On?” How often have you seen it in practice when it comes to the “chosen one”, President-elect Barack Obama?

The answer is you haven’t seen it yet? When a man bases his primary campaign bashing Hillary & Bill Clinton to win the nomination, why is he filling his Cabinet with old Clintonistas like Rahm Emanuel and potentially Hillary Clinton and Leon Panetta? Why is the hard left angry that he isn’t putting super liberals in power for reasons other than the simple fact that they are usually wrong and out of touch. All offense to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, etc….

Prophet Obama wins the primary and spends the next few months preaching about Bush’s failed 8 years and how we need to fix all his errors. His ace in the hole was how the administration mismanaged the war in Iraq. If this is the case, why is Robert Gates still the Secretary of Defense? Isn’t he the top guy in the Pentagon? Doesn’t he help manage the war? Why haven’t we heard of a timetable that Obama proposed? Why is the closing of Guantanamo Bay becoming quieter by the minute?

Also, why has he backed off on his stance regarding the expiration of the Bush tax cuts?

Where’s all this change? Is it the radicals hope that Obama will make the change from capitalism to socialism? Is it the hope that instead of preserving the unregulated capitalism that made us prosperous, we move to a system in which the government is involved in every aspect of your life, including what you listen to on the radio with the Fairness Doctrine. Even JFK knew that unbridled capitalism was the answer.

Folks, we’re not seeing the changes he’s campaigned about. You have been hoodwinked just like many poor Europeans were sucked into the nationalistic fervor of change in the 1930’s. There will be change, but not the change you voted for.

  1. Change, how about this for change. Image president-elect Obama creating a new cabinet position called The Department of Equalization. This will be his first step in fulfilling his vision of spreading the wealth around. He can use the cabinet position to ensure that no person has a greater share of wealth than another. It’s fair to assume that Obama believes that it is unjust that one person might own more than one business while others have none. The Secretary of Equalization can oversee a whole new bureacracy of “big brothers” who can monitor what businesses can and can not do or how much they can make.

  2. That is an interesting Cabinet position. Wait, if they Dems get to 60, it could be possible.

Imagine a payroll deduction because you would have just 1 cent more than someone else. I might just quit my job, keep my house, add to my debt and let the government take some rich guy’s money (that he worked hard for by making smart investments and innovating) to support me and my young family.

I can’t wait to see who the secretary would be. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Keith Olbermann, Robin Hood.

You just gave me an idea for my next blog. Nice posting.

I also like your blog and will be adding it to my blogroll.
