Obama Screw-Up #1

News has come out this week about President-Elect Obama’s desire to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. As you may know, we have 255 detainees and suspected terrorists there.

Why does this man want to close the prison? Does William Ayers and Mr. Khalidi need need new neighbors now that Obama is moving to Pennsylvania? Does the University of Chicago need new liberal radical to teach their classes? How much will these suspect terrorists donate to the corrupt political machine?

These terrorists are being detained in an effort to stop the spread of terrorism and protect us from another attack. Where will these detainees go? Will we continue to keep them or will we send them back to Iraq in a terrorist for white-flag exchange program? Maybe they’ll become his friends and they will be pardoned and given amnesty.

This action will have no positive. You will see President Bush pardon everyone (and I mean every single person) involved in the operations at Guantanamo Bay on January 19th. We will be at a greater risk of attack and Obama will be in dereliction of duty for he is failing to protect this country.

Think about the water boarding of Sheik Mohammed. Was it rough? Yes. Was it necessary? Yes. Thank to this and other tough tactics taken on by our soldiers, the one who gives their lives so we can enjoy ours, allowed us to stop many terrorist plots before they were carried out.

So here is the critical question. Which is more important, protecting this nation from terrorists at all costs or protecting these terrorist rights so they can once again act on their hatred?

President-elect Obama better think twice before erasing EVERYTHING Bush did. He did do some good.

  1. Obama is a smart, albeit liberal progressive ideolog, who has to satisfy the liberals who got him into office. He has to appease the Net York Tomes and the Washington Post, the Huffington Post and the ACLU and Acorn, George Soros and MoveOn.Rog so he has to do soe things that look like he is maintaining his liberal stance. He will close Guantanamo and reinstall the ban on off-shoe drilling. But I think he knows that to maintain his Messiah status with the misguided Americans who elected him, he has to keep some of his centrist promises….
All-in-all, conservative has four rough years coming…..God Bless America….

  2. He is all of that, but he has to be careful. Americans still want to be protected. An attack will give the White back to the GOP.

More importantly, he needs to be sure that he doesn’t misread his mandate. The liberals did not get him in, moderate democrats and independents did. He needs to please these people since the liberals are the automatic putty in his hands.

Clinton was a terrible president in his first two years. He misread this perceived “mandate” and the GOP and the Contract with America took Congress by storm. Clinton learned from his mistake and became a very effective President. If Obama is to be effective and wants to keep Congress under Democratic rule, he needs to do what Clinton did in his last 6 years.
